All 3 of our centers are accredited through the Step Ahead Recognition System (STARS).

STARS is Vermont’s quality recognition system for child care, preschool, and after school programs. Programs that participate in STARS are stepping ahead — going above and beyond

state regulations to provide professional services that meet the needs of children and families.

You can look to STARS as an indicator of quality when choosing child care. The more stars a program has, the more it is involved in a wide range of practices that support children,

families, and professionals. We are proud to have 5 and 4 STAR ratings.

Our Philosophy

We are committed to supporting healthy and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community. Founded upon the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, it is our honor to provide high quality early childhood care and education to children in a safe, healthy, nurturing, and responsive environment. As we strive to develop the whole child, we commit to a partnership with families that will address the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of the child. In order to achieve these goals we must establish strong relationships with each other and the community to meet the diverse needs of the children and families we serve.

The curriculum used reflects the center’s philosophy of nurturing the whole child. The curriculum includes a continuum of developmental and learning objectives to help guide planning so that all aspects of development can be achieved. This multi-cultural, open-ended curriculum incorporates a variety of subjects including Language/Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Music and Physical Movement. We offer enrichment programs (Music, Cooking, Science/Nature Projects and Library Time) with musical performances held twice a year.

We believe that each child has unique qualities, strengths and needs. We strive to enhance independence and self-esteem and to promote education in a comprehensive, integrated and continuous manner. We offer a variety of learning methods and materials to reach all learning styles (auditory, visual and tactile) that invite exploration and encourages creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking within a balanced play-based (learning centers) and teacher-directed classroom.

Within our program each child will experience varied degrees of success socially, physically, creatively, intellectually and emotionally. It is our promise to welcome and support all students who come to our center throughout their stay with us.

Child Doing Art Activity

Our Goal

The goal of our program is to enable children to become active, inquisitive, confident and independent learners.  We recognize that children learn best at their own pace and in ways that are best suited to their own individual learning styles.  The skills our children will learn in our care will have an impact throughout their lives.  Ours is an open-ended program designed specifically to prepare children to utilize their intellectual/cognitive and creative abilities in future learning tasks.

Our aim is to provide a developmentally appropriate environment in which students, families and staff are active partners who recognize the individually of each student, stimulate and challenge the development of each child’s skills and encourage pride in achievement and participation.
